In May 2006, Wheaton World Wide Moving announced a new partnership with Crown Relocations, one of the world’s largest international relocation services organizations. This exciting new partnership allows Wheaton and its 250 domestic Agents to tap into the vast Crown worldwide network of service providers. Crown has over 100 locations in 46 countries and many of their international shipments are serviced completely by the Crown network. The Crown Worldwide Story begins in 1965. A young American named Jim Thompson (then residing in Japan), recognized the need for a reputable international moving service. With only US$1,000 in his bank account, he established a small company in Yokohama. In its formative years, Transport Services International (as it was then known) had only one office. The company soon prospered through hard work and a focus on quality service.
In 1970, Crown Worldwide Network saw its growth into Hong Kong when success carried on and thereafter into other areas such as, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and other Asia Pacific regions. Transport Services International turned to Crown Pacific in 1975, and by the 1980s was recognized as one of the leading movers in Asia. Based on the increased in mobility across the globe, they expanded their offices across Europe, America, in addition to Australia. The development also brought on a new name, reflecting the company’s target market. Crown Worldwide Network is now known as Crown Worldwide Group (CWG).
Years later, CWG has continued to develop , and currently is one of the most respected and recognized brands in international moving. The company has grown to become the world’s largest privately-held group of international moving companies.
